Big Fish Contest

The Big Fish Contest is underway until December 2008.  The contest is open to all Pennsylvania residents. Entries must be taken in Pennsylvania waters open to unrestricted public fishing and according to all rules and regulations of the state.  Winners are determined by length, with weight used as a tie breaker.  If you do not want to harvest your fish, there is a 'catch and release' entry.  You must provide a picture of you and your fish along with the completed form.

The John Bistline Memorial Trophy is for the club member catching the largest trout in the 2008 season.  On alternate years, it is for the largest bass.  The Sheesley Lake Bass Trophy is awarded to the club member catching the largest bass in the club's lake.

The Patriot-News sponsors the Sunfish category, open to all Junior anglers under age 12.  HH&A wishes to thank Marcus Schneck, the Patriot-News and all the registration locations for their support.  They are:

2007 Big Fish Contest winners

HH&A hosted the awards program for the 2007 Big Fish Contest on March 4, 2008. 1st and 2nd place trophies went to 42 winners in 21 different categories. A few entrants brought in mounted trophies and/or photos of their prize catches. Marcus Schneck presented special awards for the Sunfish category, which is sponsored by the Patriot News and reserved for kids 12 years of age and under.
