Traditional Archery Program for Longbows and Recurve Bows

Greetings Fellow Traditional Archers,

The Traditional Archers from far and wide will once again gather monthly, on the first Sunday of each month May through October from 2:00pm until 4:00pm for a round of fun and traditional archery shooting.  Please come and join us for some nice, friendly competition. If you don’t have any archery gear yet, we can loan you some equipment to use while you are at the shoot.  If you do have equipment whether it be a longbow, recurve bow, self-bow, bring it to the shoot and cast some arrows with your fellow traditional archers.   We will be meeting and casting arrows at the indoor range to warm up and then move to the chestnut grove (weather permitting) on the dates shown in the 2017 schedule below.

  • May 7
  • June 4
  • July 2
  • August 6
  • September 3
  • October 1

On the dates shown above, we will have a meeting/practice shoot indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, you can either shoot as an individual archer, group archer, or both.

Please feel free to suggest your ideas for interesting archery activities.

Leave your earplugs, sights, cleaning supplies, scorecards, and bow cams at home; grab your traditional bow and some arrows and join in the fun!

Bill and I hope to see you there!!!  If you have any questions, please call Mark Zagursky at 717-319-9980 or Bill Chastain at 717-512-9796.

Remember:  Larry the Longbow says…”An arrow in the quiver is worth two in the bush…especially when you can’t find those two arrows you lost in the bush!”
