Handgun Safety Course

The Basic Handgun Safety Course provides information on how to shoot a handgun safely and accurately. In addition, the course covers the following:

  • Function
  • Care and Cleaning
  • Sight Alignment
  • Trigger Control
  • Grip

A Law Enforcement trained NRA pistol instructor will speak on the legal aspects of firearms for self defense.

The course is open to the public. Cost is $50.00. There are four classes. All four classes must be attended to receive a certificate from the NRA and Harrisburg Hunters’ and Anglers’.

Dates for the 2017 Class schedule are as follows:

  • April  22n d,  23rd
  • May 15th,19th, 22n d, 26th
  • July 10th, 14th, 17th, 21st
  • September 18th, 22nd, 25th, 29th
  • October  16th, 20th, 23rd, 27th

Must attend all 4 days

Students are not to bring guns the 1st night of class but can bring them other nights. No ammo is allowed in room with exception of the last night, and then it has to be carried separately.

First Steps dates for 2017 are May 13, August 05 and October 07.

To be held on Saturday, May 13th, August 5th, 2017 and Saturday, October 7th, 2017. Club House reserved from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Indoor range reserved from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. NRA Handgun safety Class for true beginners. Focus on SAFETY and GUN HANDLING. Cost is $35.00, HANDGUN AND AMMO PROVIDED, DO NOT BRING A GUN.
