Our History and Conservation Roots
HHA was founded by five local outdoorsmen who wanted to create a place for fellowship and outdoor recreation. They also shared concerns that remain relevant today, including pollution, reforestation and the conservation of natural resources. Those priorities helped shape the club’s early mission and continue to be part of its identity..
Programs and Activities
HHA offers recreational, educational and competitive opportunities for a range of ages and experience levels. Programs include handgun safety and skills courses, Bullseye and Police Pistol Combat, High Power Rifle, black powder shooting, Tactical Range activities, archery, fishing, Junior Rifle and other youth and community events.
Programs such as Ladies Night on the Range, handgun safety courses and Junior Rifle give new and developing participants structured ways to learn. Experienced shooters can also take part in leagues, matches and advanced training. Offerings vary throughout the year, so visitors should use the program pages and Club Calendar for current details.
Ranges and Clubhouse
Most HHA target ranges have covered firing lines, allowing them to be used during mild inclement weather. The clubhouse—originally a barn—includes an approximately 30-by-60-foot meeting area, a lounge with a stone fireplace and a full kitchen.
Community and Professional Use
HHA facilities are also used by local law enforcement agencies and private security organizations for training and qualification. Through youth education, public events and community partnerships, the club’s impact extends beyond its membership.
Membership, Meetings and Contact
Membership meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings provide club updates and information about firearm safety, shooting sports, hunting, archery, fishing and upcoming activities.
