What Students Learn
Students learn the fundamentals of firearm safety and are introduced to different rifle shooting positions. Each weekly class combines classroom instruction with supervised range time so students can apply what they learn in a controlled environment.
The course runs for at least 10 weeks, giving new shooters time to develop safe habits and gradually build their skills.
Club Equipment and What to Bring
HHA provides the rifles, ammunition, and learning materials used during the program at no charge. Families do not need to purchase a rifle or ammunition before registering.
Each student should bring personal eye and ear protection to every class.
Parent or Guardian Waiver
A parent or guardian must accompany the student to sign an HHA waiver. A student will not be permitted to shoot until the waiver has been completed..
Returning Shooters
Shooters who are still within the program’s age range and completed the classroom portion in a previous year are welcome to return for range practice.
A returning-shooter relay normally begins around 5:45 p.m. Returning shooters do not need to preregister, but they should arrive at least 15 minutes before the relay.
